CAKE BOSS!!!!!!

So last night was the night Kareem Youngblood the whole team and I went to the denim lounge to decorate for the baby shower which was appearing on the TLC reality Cake Boss. Now I sound like I kept my composer through out the entire taping, and I did but on the inside I was about 2 minutes from running down the block and buying a shirt that says HI MOM IM ON TV!! It was too crazy but I guess I should start from the beginning. After a crazy Friday night (but that’s a story for another day), I had to wake up 7 on a Friday and get to Brooklyn by 9 30. Once that part was finished I had to work as soon as I got to the house. Hot gluing denim patches together to form this dope rug, altering a dress for the mother to be working with bleach in my Nudie jeans which is some scary shit. When I was done with that of to the laundry mat to get the bleach smell out of the patches and the denim shirts. That’s not all that easy when you don’t know shit bout the ins and out of Brooklyn. I fount my way though. When that was done, I had to run my ass back to Kareem’s apartment and bring all of the stuff to the Denim Lounge, including his shoes because he ran out of the house bare foot. Now when we got that stuff there it’s a whole other story, we gotta rush and get the stuff ready to make the place look crazy get Wendy( mother to be) ready for her camera appearance then arrange all the decorations according to how we, as the artist want it. Get ourselves ready so we don’t look like the homeless on national tv, and finally celebrate cause we came, we saw and we pulled that shit off. Once the cameras got there we were ready everything was in place Wendy looked amazing thanks to Kareem Emmanuel, Qwana and I, and I can honestly say its something I will never in life forget. What I’m going through now my break into the fashion world has been amazing I know there will be some falls some set backs but that’s just a part of the game and I know I have what it takes to be a Ralph Lauren, or Yves Saint Laurent. But for as long as I live I will forever be me. I will eat sleep and breathe it and just so y’all know, Imma be on top of the world!!!!

P.S that cake was amazing I’m not gonna give all the details, your just going to have to watch Cake Boss and see

Which Type Suites You?

Have you checked out the checklist in my last blog? If not, you definitely should.

Who plans events? I found a very informative website with this information and much more. Do you want to own your own service or work for a company that plans events? Either way, it’s important that you know the differences. Many corporations hold annual meetings and conferences, so they may have an in-house planner or a full event planning staff that will handle this aspect of the company. You could also start an event planning service in which the purpose will be to plan events for clients (usually companies that want to host events but needs an outside planner). There’s also the independent event planner, which is usually teamed up with other experienced event planners to pull together every aspect of an annual fundraiser, special event or festival.

Checklist: Essential to Planning

Now that you know the definition of event planning and some of the key skills you will need, I found a checklist online that, I’m sure, will prove useful to anyone planning an event. Though it may not include everything you could possibly think of or be specific to certain types of events, it will definitely be helpful in getting started. Check out the list and try to come up with additional items on your own that this list is missing. This will ensure that very little is left out in your planning.

Get the checklist here!

If you want to take it a step further, educate yourself and really get the ball rolling by checking out www.wibo.org. It’s an inexpensive workshop that walks you through how to set up your business and launch it. Even if you’re not into event planning but want to be an entrepreneur – this is the workshop for you.

Take that step; learn those skills

Hey people! I’m embarking on a new journey, and I’m hoping that you will join me. Recently, I have taken an interest in event planning, and I’m trying to learn as much as I possibly can. So, on our journey we’ll both learn a lot about what and what not to do in the event planning industry as well as many tips and strategies to get us all started.

I must say that I am learning some interesting things so far, but I think I should first share with you what an event planner does.
Taken from eventplanning.about.com, event planning is

Anyone interested in becoming an event planner should begin the path by understanding that it is not party planning. This is the case whether you're considering a path with social events or corporate events. The final program may appear as if the profession is about throwing great parties, but the event planning professional focuses on the rationale or goal of having an event, and whether it is achieved. And the real work is in the details that lead up to the event.

Some of the key skills that you will need to have or learn in order get things done and be successful in this industry, include great organization and time management, attention to details, deadline oriented, personable and the knowledge of how to work well under pressure.

There’s more to time, but if you want to read the detailed article of what an event planner does, check out this link:
